How Do You Cure Nail Fungus?

Posted by: Zodiac | Comments (2)

Over a year ago now, I was going to a nail shop to have the acrylic nails maintained and got nail fungus because of poor hygiene practices of the shop. The doctor said there is a medication for it but that it costs $1000.00 dollars and only a 50 percent chance it will cure it. I heard that vicks vapor rub and tea tree oil work, but so far, no luck. Any home remedies you can give would be much appreciated.

Each of my big toes has a stripe of fungus under the nail at the edge. I have been trying fungus sprays with no effect. I have good hygene and don’t understand how this happened. I have no insurance and the prescription for this is 174.00. Let me know if you have any ideas.

The advertised ingested medication is hard on the liver, must be taken for several months, not covered by insurance (oh, because a nail fungus is cosmetic) and does not have a good track record for sucess of no-repeat.

i’ve been wearing acrylic nails off and on for two years. recently when i got them done, i noticed a small dark spot on the corner of the pink part of my pinky nail. that is gone, but part of the pink part of my nail is like a white-ish color. oh i smelt it one day & it kinda smells like mildew. ew. is this a fungus?

I went to the doctor because I have this bad fungus on my toe nail, I expected to get pills for this like lamisil or diflucan I have known people to use these pills but my doctor prescribed me something called Penlac it’s like a nail polish that I brush on every day. Does anyone know how long this will take to take effect? And or does anyone know any home remedies for this

I bought a pair of shoes and a couple months later I developed a nail fungus in the second toe on each foot (which I thought rather strange). I tried a bunch of topical solutions however they never really cleared the fungus up completely. I have a new pair of shoes now and haven’t applied anything to the nails in about 4 months and my nails are returning to normal. Could it have been something in the shoe that caused the problem in the first place? I very perplexed and grateful!

I just took off my toe nail polish and all of my toes had what looks like white clouds or they look very dry from all the white patches on them. I was able to buff 95% of it off and apply a toe nail fungus medicine. Is this the start of a fungus or is it fungus? I hate to use the medicine because it dries my nails out but I don’t want a fungus either. Any suggestions.

I figure it’s nail fungus because it’s a solid black circle under the nail and it used to be orange-ish.

I was told before that a nail fungus is a skin infection, but not a nail infection.
